UN International Day of Older Persons: Celebrating Across Generations

We’re delighted to announce that Chris Hanway of Jacob Riis Settlement and Ariana A. Elezaj of Lenox Hill Neighborhood House are co-chairing this year’s UN International Day of Older Persons event. Taking place at the UN in New York City and also viewable on UN TV, this event will be held on Monday, October 2 at 10 am NYC time.

Event Theme: “FULFILLING THE PROMISES OF THE UNIVERSAL DECLARATION OF HUMAN RIGHTS FOR OLDER PERSONS: ACROSS GENERATIONS.”

Though registration is closed, we extend a warm welcome to the settlement house community, particularly staff and participants from youth and older adult programs, as well as those engaged in intergenerational work. Chris will touch upon the significance of the Settlement House movement and its commitment to intergenerational connections in his remarks.
