News from ASKOVFONDEN in Denmark
“A new evaluation of our collaboration project ‘Together Without Violence – Pregnant’ clearly demonstrates the effectiveness of screening for partner violence among pregnant women,” says Annika Svensson from ASKOFONDEN in Denmark.
“Since 2019, our model, developed in collaboration with the Mary Foundation, the Østifterne Foundation, and Amager and Hvidovre Hospital, has significantly improved our detection rates. Previously, we identified about 6 victims of violence among pregnant women per year; now, we find 1-2 couples weekly.
Thanks to the dedicated efforts of the midwives at Amager and Hvidovre Hospital, who can identify couples experiencing severe conflicts or violence, we are able to ensure a more dignified start to life for many more children.”
