Melissa Aase Elected as New President of the IFS Board

The International Federation of Settlements and Neighbourhood Centres (IFS) is proud to announce the election of Melissa Aase as the new President of its Board. This decision was made during the organization’s June meeting, marking the beginning of a promising chapter under Melissa’s visionary leadership.

Melissa Aase, widely recognised for her contributions to community development, brings a wealth of experience as the CEO of University Settlement Society in New York City. With over three decades of leadership and community advocacy behind her, she is dedicated to fostering equity, inclusion, and growth within diverse communities.

Upon her appointment, Melissa shared:

“I am deeply honoured to serve as the President of the IFS Board. Together, we will strengthen the local impact of our members across the world, and connect that impact globally. I look forward to working closely with the board and members to build on our shared vision. Building healthy, equitable, civically engaged communities has never been more relevant, and that’s exactly what IFS members do worldwide.”

Melissa’s leadership is expected to play a crucial role in shaping IFS’s direction as a global network committed to empowering communities. Her strategic approach and collaborative spirit align with the core values of IFS as the organisation tackles pressing social issues and strengthens its global impact.
