Welcoming New Members to the IFS Community

Sep 28, 2023 | News

We are thrilled to announce the newest additions to IFS from Northern Ireland, Scotland, Kenya, Ukraine, England, Wales, Sweden, and Greece. In a recent welcoming meeting, our seasoned members generously shared their experiences, highlighting the tremendous value of being a part of the IFS.

As Tony Armstrong from Locality in England wisely pointed out, the IFS serves as a unifying force, connecting individuals and organizations and communities with shared values from around the world. It doesn’t matter where we come from or the traditions we hold; what unites us is our dedication to community-led, locally rooted, multipurpose initiatives, and a commitment to working with people rather than for them.

Susan Matloff-Nieves from Goddard Riverside shared her perspective, describing IFS membership as “life-changing.” She emphasized that the more you invest in this community, the more you gain. Seeing similar work in different countries provided her with a deeper understanding of her own work in New York.”

We extend a warm and enthusiastic welcome to our new members, and express gratitude for the new member from Ukraine and acknowledge the challenges their country is facing. Let’s continue to expand and flourish together, making a positive impact on communities worldwide.
